YMCA Annual Drive

Every day at the Lima Family YMCA we change a life. A child gains self-confidence, a teen builds leadership skills, a family grows stronger together and an older adult stays healthy and active. We believe that everyone – regardless of their financial situation – deserves the chance to be stronger in spirit, mind and body.   View our annual drive video.

New President / CEO

The Lima YMCA is pleased to announce the appointment of its next CEO, Jared Lehman, who will begin his duties on July 7th.  Lehman will replace Jerry Courtney, who had served in the role for the 9 years. Jared is a lifelong resident of Allen County, and a graduate of Bluffton University where he earned his B.A. in Social Work, and M.A. in Organizational Management. Since 2008,  he has served as the Executive Director of Otterbein Cridersville Senior Lifestyle Community, where he recently raised funds, constructed, and opened a $1 million Life Enrichment Center complete with an exercise area and a warm water therapy pool.  He has spent his professional career working in the field of elder care including ten years at Good Samaritan Society of Arlington. In addition to his work at Otterbein he serves on the Board of Directors at First National Bank.  He is also a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church currently serving on the Board of Deacons.  Jared and his wife Sarah have two boys, and are active in the aquatics program at the Y.

Interim CEO

Please welcome Lowell Nees, our Interim CEO who will be serving approximately 6 months until we recruit a new CEO. Lowell retired three years ago after serving 42 years in the YMCA, most recently in Miami County. He currently lives in Piqua, Ohio with his wife Jan. Lowell was born and raised in Lima and spent many hours in the Lima YMCA before moving to Columbus to attend Ohio State University.
