Strengthening Family

Family Swim Lessons

This program is designated to teach the entire family the basic skills to be safe in, on and around water. 

We will focus on the following skills:

  • Floating or treading water for one minute without a flotation device
  • Stepping or jumping into water over your head and returning to the surface
  • Treading water or floating in a full circle and then finding a way out of the water
  • Exiting a pool without using a ladder
  • Swimming 25 yards (the length of a standard pool) without stopping

At minimum at least one adult and one child are required to attend the swimming lesson.

Sunday: 3:00 - 3:45 pm (Main Pool)

FEE:  Members $85; Non-Members $150


Whiz Kids

This gym and swim program is designed for boys and girls ages 3-5 years old. Children will participate in a 1/2 hour gym program followed by a 1/2 swim lesson.

Tuesday & Thursday

Gym Activities - 9:15 - 9:45 am
Swim Lessons - 10:00 - 10:30 am

FEE:  Members $35; Non-Members $70


Power Reading - Grades 1 - 12

Pump up your child's reading with our Power Reading course. Power Reading utilizes Reading Plus®, a computer-based reading enrichment program designed for students of all reading levels. Reading Plus® is the result of 70 years of research by Taylor Associates Communication Inc. and has helped more than 500,000 readers worldwide. 

Whether you are trying to catch up to your peers of preparing for the ACT or SAT, Power Reading will give you the boost you need.

During our Power Reading course students will flex their mental muscles as they increase vocabulary, reading speed and comprehension.  Power Reading begins with an assessment before putting each student on an individualized plan for success.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 4:00 pm or 5:00 pm in the computer lab of the YMCA Annex building.

Parent / Child Gym Time

We are now reserving Gym time throughout the week exclusively for parents to practice basketball skills with their children 15 yrs and younger.
