Swim Suit Care and Life Expectancy

Life Expectancy of Swim Suit

The life expectancy of a ladies swim suit is approximately 3-4 months.  This is based on wearing a suit three times a week for one hour at a time.  So depending on your swimming frequency, the life expectancy could be a little more or a little less.

Care for Your Swim Suit

The care given to a suit plays a big role in how long a suit will last.  We recommend rinsing the suit in cold water immediately after swimming.  Once home, hand wash the suit in cold water with a mild detergent.  This will rinse away chlorine or sea salts.  The suit can be dried in the dryer on a low setting or line dry out of direct sunlight.

Co-Ed Inner Tube Water Polo

The newest sport at the Lima Y!  Water Polo is a water team sport involving a ball like a volleyball thrown into the opposing team's net at either end of the pool.  But the Y is adding it's own twist to the game:  players will play water polo while floating on an inner tube!  This fun, recreational sport allows you to combine lounging in the pool with great core exercise and fun with friends!

Players score points by throwing water polo balls into nets at either end of the pool.  Inner tube water polo is played with six players in the pool at a time, but a team may begin a game with as few as four players.  The game shall consist of two 16 minute halves with a five minute halftime.  Participants will be provided an inner tube for use during the game.  At least 2 women must be playing at all times.

League is open to everyone ages 13 years and older.  Wear your suit (ladies please wear a 1 piece or athletic 2 pieces), bring water and a towel.

Wednesday's 8:30 - 9:30 pm

FEE:  $70 per team (team can consist of up to 10 members), team captain will be the one who registers.
